Listen, I gotta say I don’t wanna put this post up. It’s not for me. It’s for you.

Here’s why I’m saying that.

For a long time I was afraid of telling people I was half South Asian. To this day I still am a bit weary. I was happy to have the ability to hide who I was in my light skin and ambiguous features. But only recently have I seen the impact that being honest about your identity can have.

A very talented documentary film maker named Lisa Rideout produced this beautiful homage to mixed race families and my family was lucky enough to be a part of it.

I’m very passionate about the upward progression of women and men in the media world.

We are the conduits of communication and so much of our hearts go into creating what goes out into the world. I refuse to believe that it can’t be a safe space for all of us.
