I like to think I am four people in one body.

My heritage has always been a point of conversation in my life.

I’m half Pakistani-Muslim, half Russian-Jew, and I am also a woman.

That’s a lot of identity in one person.

Having a diverse background was and is equal parts confusing and such a gift. I wanted to be in this film because I think it’s important that we have discussions around diversity and what those experiences are like. But also I just wanted the world to see what someone from those nationalities mixed together was like. A lot of the time we’re scared of what we don’t know. What we’ve never had exposure to. My hope is if you could see the universal qualities my family has, it would be easier to accept our differences.

A very talented documentary film maker named Lisa Rideout produced this beautiful homage to mixed race families and we were very excited to be a part of it.

Also this cements the fact that my parents are adorable.
